5 reasons to book your in home newborn session
If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve probably seen me showcase natural newborn session styles. I create natural studio galleries as well as un-posed and natural on-location photos.
I love this style and recommend studio or in home equally to my clients based on their homes and personalities. If you’ve been thinking about booking a newborn session but you’re hoping for something more natural, this post is for you!

The best part of an In Home Newborn Session is that you get to document your little one just as they are.
No poses. No props. Just you and your new little bundle.
I work with the available window light in your home.
This ensures that the final images of your babe truly reflect how you saw them in those first couple of weeks at home.

3. IN HOME NEWBORN SESSIONS ARE LOW CONTACT
If you’ve been hesitant to book a newborn session because you’re nervous about having your brand new little one handled by a stranger, this session is the perfect choice for you.
In Home Newborn Sessions don’t require me to touch baby at all. But I am always happy to take lots of baby snuggles too. I’m down for both.
I can assist with some prompts and incorporate some (non-posey) poses, I operate completely at your level of comfort.
If you prefer I don’t handle your baby at all, that is absolutely fine!
4. CONVENIENT
It’s super convenient having a session at home!
Much like a midwife check in, an In Home Newborn Session doesn’t require you to leave the house. This is especially convenient after a Caesarean section, when your mobility may be at a deficit.
All you have to do is tidy a few key areas. (nursery, master bedroom and/or living room)

WHEN SHOULD I BOOK A NEWBORN SESION?
An In Home Newborn Session is truly a magical way to record the most important milestone in your family’s life!
The first few weeks after baby arrives can be exhausting. You’ll likely be sleep deprived and drifting between night and day with short intervals of sleeping, feeding, and diaper changing. So make sure you book your session before baby arrives!
It’s best if you book in your 2nd or early 3rd trimester to ensure availability. Both Studio and In Home Newborn sessions are available for families in Peterborough and the surrounding area including The City of Kawartha Lakes, Millbrook, Port Hope, Lakefield, Keene, Warsaw, Douro, Cobourg, and more.
